You want more to know about Ayurveda?
Turtle Bay’s tranquil surroundings create the ideal environment conducive to deep relaxation and a renewed sense of vigour.
Literally translated, Ayurveda means “wisdom” or “life science”. The term comes from Sanskrit and is composed of the words Ayus (life) and Veda (knowledge).
A form of traditional medicine originating in India and further developed in Sri Lanka, Ayurveda aims to treat and integrate body, mind and spirit using a comprehensive holistic approach, which especially emphasizes diet, herbal remedies, exercise, meditation, breathing and physical therapy.
Its main objective is to keep the body healthy and youthful. To begin with, Ayurveda determines a person’s dosha (mind-body) type, which subsequently forms the basis for ensuing treatments, tests and nutrition during the treatment period.
After consultation with Turtle Bay’s resident doctor, treatments are individualized to suit a guest’s body type and existing health conditions. The treatment regimens are planned to simultaneously clean, heal, restore and bring into balance the entire mind, body and soul, with the ultimate aim of bringing about a deep sense of well-being. Comprehensive Ayurveda treatments, lasting longer than 4 days, are only offered from february 2022.
The 4-days-package is undertaken with the help of a doctor’s consultation and is accompanied by thorough Ayurveda treatments, helping clients achieve a more healthy inner balance.
Explore the diet program and experience lasting well being with the help of targeted detox treatments and gentle exercise. Combined, these efforts support the body in expelling toxins and waste material. Clients usually feel less burdened and experience renewed lightness, vitality and mobility within a short time.
This package is available throughout the season. Guests interested in the package are kindly requested to contact Turtle Bay in advance for more information.
Traditional Ayurveda massage helps remove stress and tension, two of the major causes of headaches, tiredness and sleep deprivation. Guests can book a range of further treatments at the reception whilst staying at Turtle Bay. These include full-body, oil or stamp massages, as well as neck, shoulder, head and foot massages.
